Actualización diagnóstico-terapeútica del carcinoma basocelular


Recientemente se ha procedido a una actualización de las guías de práctica clínica para el manejo del carcinoma basocelular a nivel europeo, las cuales constituyen una perfecta excusa para realizar el principal objetivo de las presentes recomendaciones, una actualización diagnóstica y terapéutica del carcinoma basocelular o carcinoma de células basales (CCB) en nuestra práctica clínica habitual.

En relación a términos de incidencia y prevalencia los datos son muy dispares entre los diferentes países europeos pero creemos importante resaltar dos datos reflejados en estas guías:

  1. En un reciente estudio realizado en Girona, la tasa ajustada por edad de incidencia de CCB es de 44,6 casos por cada 100.000 habitantes, aumentando la tasa de 48,5 casos en el periodo 1994-1995 a 60,5 casos en el periodo 2004-2005.
  2. La incidencia de aparición del CCB está aumentando en todos los países, sobre todo desarrollados y la edad de diagnóstico del primer CCB está disminuyendo.
